How We Work

Icando provides an individualised and customised service. The coaching and learning that take place are uniquely tailored to the individual or team and the process can differ depending on the learning and development needs you have. The coach and client work together to design a unique coaching process that will create the desired positive outcome.

Icando understands that the foundation to creating the best coaching relationship includes:

  • coachable moments
  • constructive feedback
  • thought-provoking questions
  • identifying solutions and options
  • creating successful action plans
  • identifying obstacles that might limit the plan's success
  • implementation of the plan
  • support through follow-up

The coaching process also involves talking, listening, feedback, discussions, perspective, validation, teaching, communication, solutions, planning, structure, exercises, strategies and resources.

Icando coaching services are typically provided via in-person sessions, telephone and/or email.

The Coaching Plan

Each coaching plan includes the development of clear objectives and goals for the coaching process. The phases of the plan are as follows:

Phase 1 – Identify developmental objectives and goals with the person to be coached and benchmarking their current level of performance or situation.

Phase 2 – Create an overall action plan for the coaching process. This personalised action plan is necessary for long-term behaviour change and sustainability.

Phase 3 – Conduct coaching sessions at agreed intervals, scheduling the sessions so the coachee feels supported and guided in making the desired changes.

Phase 4 – Implement the required action and changed behaviour so that the desired results can be gained. This involves providing the necessary support through consistent follow-up so that progress is made, behaviour changed, skills developed, confidence grows and results are gained.

Phase 5 – Conduct of post coaching review to embed the learning that has taken place and reflect on progress made by benchmarking the coachee’s current level of competence or situation.
